GAF Certified Roofing Contractor in Katy Texas!

Roofer Near Me in Houston!

Now that we're halfway through the 2020 roofing season, it's been very interesting to see how the coronvirus is impacting our industry.  As roofers, we have seen the home improvement industry soar with the eagles as "social distancing" and "stay at home" orders have created a greater awareness for personal spaces and property.  Building materials have been scarce and expensive as our exterior restoration contractors have been booked solid.  The important decisions our community are currently making is regarding the choosing of legit contractors for their projects.  We at Kingdom would like to point out a few areas that separate ourselves from the competition.  Let's explore why Kingdom Roof and Fence is the correct choice for your greatest investment.

First, we at Kingdom Roof and Fence have been recognized by the leading and largest shingle manufacture in the world, GAF and we're officially a GAF Certified Roofing Contractor.  Indirectly, when you do business with Kingdom, you're keeping a local Texan working in one of the three Texan based manufacturing facilities.  This is always a good thing when we can take care of our own.  Secondly, GAF is not the only company who has stood behind Kingdom Roof and Fence, we also are A rated and Accredited with the Better Business Bureau.  This means we are vetted, highly rated and fully insured for our trade as a roofing contractor.  When you're looking for a trustworthy roofer for your next roof repair or roof replacement project, make sure you give Kingdom the call.

In the roofing industry, we are among the most largely scrutinized and highly competitive SEO marketing fields for top Google ratings.  Thanks to Kingdom Business, we're well on our way to having front page placement without engaging in paid advertisements.  Lastly, we would like to mention the second roofing location addition that we acquired in February.  Kingdom now has offices in both Richmond and in Katy Texas so we can remain local in our service areas.  If you're looking to schedule your free roof inspection or free commercial roofing consultation, give Kingdom Roof and Fence a call at 346-291-4492.  We are also excepting appointment requests online in our website estimate form.  Thanks for reading our blog as we are eager to hear from you an meet you in person.  -Ron

Material Shortage and Fence Replacement Price Increases

Stay Calm, We have the Materials

During the coronavirus pandemic that our nation and state of Texas has endured, there has been a few changes that don't seem to be going away.  As you may already know, our financial family leaders have been working from home if possible and the home improvement stores have become shopping malls.  Our "honey do" projects have run out of excuses and the time to get them done has presented itself in a major way.  With these things considered along with the natural storm and fence season ramping up, we in the fence business have had to travel to multiple stores for each project to find materials.  For example, visit a Lowes and try to buy yourself some 4x4 pressure treated pine posts or see how many cedar pickets they have available.  You may have a better chance finding a pallet of Clorox wipes at your local grocery store.

After speaking with the lumber yards in east Texas this past weekend, the shortage is only just begun as the mills have been working at half capacity and back logged during the pandemic.  As result, material distributors and home improvement stores have increased their material prices over ten percent or 3 dollars a foot from last year.  Small businesses in our industry have been purchasing bulk materials wherever they can be found and trying to save them in storage units to keep from shutting down.  With this being said, we unfortunately have not choice but to raise our prices as well to avoid going out of business.  Please understand that this is the last thing we wanted to do but we have no choice but to make these adjustments.

Effective immediately, Kingdom Roof and Fence has set a new pricing structure for our residential wood fence customers that will be competitive as usual.  Please refer to your estimates for more information regarding these updates from our company.  We would however like to remind you that we still offer metal post fencing solutions which are readily available and come with a lifetime warranty.  In addition, there are great wrought iron and aluminum fences available for you to choose from that have not been effected from the pandemic like the wood products have.  Thank you for reading our blog and understanding that is has been and will always be our goal to bring you the best our industry and marketplace has to offer at affordable prices.  -Kingdom

Fence Contractor in the Katy Texas area

We at Kingdom would like to help alleviate some of the stress associated with of choosing the right fence for your home.  Here are a few things to consider upon making your final trim package selection and proceeding towards beginning the construction of your project.

First we would like to highlight the installation of your new posts.  Many contractors in the business do the traditional "dry pack" method which proves to be ineffective over a period of time.  This process places the post in the new holes dug and then packs literally dry concrete that has not been mixed yet.  This typically follows a water hose soaking the dry concrete and a stick mixing it together.  Unfortunately too many contractors do this and the concrete forms in different stages leaving multiple set pieces very similar to gravel around your post.  This explains the posts that are leaning but are set in concrete within the first year or two of the install.

The correct method to set posts is to mix the concrete before setting the posts and then pour the final product around the post.  During this process you're making sure your posts are level and lined up with you string.  There is a poking stick or we like to use the end of a level to push down the concrete making sure that it is all the way down and around the posts.  This simply step cannot be overlooked and corner cutting must not be done during this step or you'll be looking at your fence on the ground once again way sooner than expected.

Secondly, we need to discuss the "rails" or 2x4s that are the framework of your new fence.  Most fences that were built during the construction of a home have only two rails.  This means there's one at the top and another at the bottom.  We refer to that as "builder grade" fencing that could be potentially code for something more derogatory.  When replacing a fence, it would be very uncommon for a reputable contractor to use that same bracing style.  For the longevity of the fence and to ensuring the pickets are securely attached, the 3 rail system is obvious framework that is used on 6' wood fencing.

Lastly, there's the subject of building a gate that works and will stand the test of time.  We in the fence business would like to think is the difference the separates the men from the boys.  There are several unique gate assemblies that work and can be used but after a decade in the fence business we are sold on the 3 hinge diamond bracing system.  This means that instead of the customary 2 hinge gate assemblies that we see on almost every fence in our neighborhood, a 3 hinge fence is a better choice for holding the weight of the gate.  It's important to also spotlight that there needs to be another post close by the hinge side of the gate for additional support of the gate.  If installed correctly, the gate is more similar to a front door than a fence gate comparing how sturdy it is.

We hope this section helped educate you on why you should choose Kingdom or at a minimum what qualities you should look for in the workmanship of your fence contractor.

2020 Roofing Contractor of the Year!!!

Roofing Contractor of the Year Award!

We at Kingdom Business have been marketing companies and then watching them grow through the years like our very own children.  For most business owners, we think of our companies as our own babies since we birthed them from an idea and a vision to a full grown well known business.  Kingdom Roof and Fence has been a real joy to watch grow up and take the Houston Texas market by storm so we're pleased to inform our community of this years award!  As you may already know, it's extremely difficult to vet a roofing contractor that you have not done business with yet especially when you may have minimal knowledge regarding the roofing process.  For this reason we lean towards "trusted sources" like the Better Business Bureau, Home Advisor, our local Chamber of Commerce and few other trusted sources to find the right contractor.  We at Kingdom Business have done this and awarded Kingdom Roof and Fence the roofing contractor of the year award.

Ron and Laura Robey were seeded this business on behalf of WHY Kingdom Ministries to advance God's Kingdom on this earth and their story has been nothing but a roller coaster.  Ron and Laura met in July of 2018 at a Bible study invitation where years of hardships and life lessons all came together at that moment.  For those of us who have questioned, "WHY things have happened to them" we soon realize that it took a lifetime to prepare us for this moment.  Ron being a student of the Bible and well versed in the roofing and fencing business was the perfect piece in God's puzzle for Laura.  She had years of executive office experience coupled with a similar fire for the Lord that simply could not be distinguished.  Today they are seeking a suitable piece of land within an hour drive of the Richmond Texas area to build their ministry headquarters.  May the Lord bless their steps and provide them with the light upon their feet to see what steps to take next.

Kingdom Roof and Fence has been featured and highlighted in the Construction News Magazine as a top roofing contractor in July 2019 in addition to becoming members of the local Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.  Kingdom has also been recognized by the Houston Better Business Bureau with an A rated Accreditation proving that they are a legitimate business.  The office of Veteran Owned Businesses has also officially given them the green light to become a certified Veteran Owned Business.  Due to the top rated reviews on all social media, the insurance accord verification for general liability and passing the extensive background checks, we have made them an Official Kingdom Business. For these reasons and many others, Kingdom Roof and Fence has been awarded the Roofing Contractor of the Year award this year!  -Kingdom Business

Richmond Fence Installation Contractor

FREE CEDAR UPGRADE

Well it's finally summer time here in the Houston Texas area and it's the best time to get your backyard looking great for that cookout!  Most of our clients are motivated by keeping their pets safe but other customers are excited about setting their property apart from the neighborhood.  This is where we shine and can be of the most help.  There's fences that are built to last and then there's the best fences called Kingdom Strong!  Let's go over our current cedar fence specials and fence installation options for your to choose from.

Kingdom Roof and Fence is now offering a FREE CEDAR UPGRADE for our customers during the months of August and September.  Our current prices for new pine fencing is $17 per foot and our cedar fencing is sold at $18.88 per foot.  If you schedule and have over 85 feet installed however during these months, we're offering our cedar fencing for the same price as our pine for ONLY $17 per foot!  This is a great deal on either style of fencing and a perfect time to take advantage of this limited time offer.

Let's discuss a few installation procedures that separate Kingdom Roof and Fence apart from our competitors.  First, we always mix the concrete first before pouring it into the hole.  This may not seem important but most contractors pour dry cement into a hole and apply water with a hose while mixing it up with a stick.  Much like a driveway or any other concrete formation, you cannot pour new concrete on existing concrete that has already been set.  When you mix up the concrete in the hole, there's going to be parts of the concrete that are not mixed correctly and will become sections that set later.  This explains why many fences that are not even a year old yet are already leaning or have fallen down.

We built every fence with 3 stringers which means there's three 2x4 boards that are parallel with the ground to support your fence to the posts.  With one near the top, one almost at the bottom and the third one exactly in the middle, you can rest assured that the pickets will be securely attached to your new fence which prevents warping and detached rouge pickets.  Lastly, we also build our gates like no other fence company in the Houston area. These 3 hinge diamond bracing gates will be more like the front door on your home rather than a flimsy fence gate.  We have wood bracing on every gate that is included in our "Kingdom Strong" package.  Most companies are a very similarly priced when it comes to fencing, WHY NOT GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT the first time?  Call Kingdom Roof and Fence at 346-291-4492 to schedule your free fence estimate.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING FENCE CONSTRUCTION!

What to expect during construction

We are so happy to beginning your fence project. There are a few things we would like for you to review as we get ready to complete your project.

Sprinkler System -  We require that prior to construction that you turn on your sprinkler system for our installer prior to your fence project beginning. We will need to see the system work and each zone. If this process is not complete we will not be responsible for an sprinklers systems not working. Sometimes the sprinkler systems are placed very close to the fence and at times directly on. This often happens if it was put in after the fence was completed. There are instances that there is no way to remove the post with out cracking one of the lines. If this is the case we will repair the sprinkler and it will be added to your final invoice. If you know for certain that we will need to re-route your system we can give you an estimate to do so.

Fence Attached to House - If you're existing fence is connected or anchored to the house through your brick or siding, there's a good chance that the siding/trim or brick can be damaged during the removal process.  Repairing / replacing this siding, trim or brick will be an additional expense.

Earth from Posts - We remove the dirt from the ground when digging to place your posts. Typically we grade dirt out in areas that are needed unless otherwise instructed. This is a great opportunity to level out your yard or take care of any areas that are low. We will grade the dirt along the fence line, you are welcome to move this dirt to any location that you choose.

Cleaning of Yard (Animals) and debris from trees- Before we begin the project we ask that you clean up your yard, removing any pet excrement and any shrubs or bushes that are within 18 inches within the fence line. If we have to remove tree branches, vines, and  bushes there may be additional charge to the project.

Property Lines -  We do not build the fence on the property line but on the existing fence line. If you need the fence line change you must provide the survey for your property prior to the project. This can change the footage and in turn the estimate will be revised.

Neighbor Compensations - Most fences are shared with a neighbor, however, we deal directly with the customer that contracted us. IF there is a split payment of different neighbors we ask that we have all the neighbors information prior to the project. If not, we expect the customer to pay any amounts in full.

Inclement Weather - Weather can change the terrain of a fence project. What was once a pile of dirt can turn to a pile of mud as well as tracking it back and forth bringing supplies.

Removal Process- During the removal process we typically take all the old fence panels with us off site the day we take the fence down. There are some instances when this is taken on another day, this is not common but on rare occasions when multiple neighbors have large amounts of fence pulled at the same time that this may occur.

811 Dig- We will request line marking from 811 dig. This process usually take 24-48 hours.

Unforeseen Labor  - Tree Roots, abnormal amounts of concrete, extra bracing or materials (repair projects) may require additional charges.

KATY TEXAS ROOFING CONTRACTOR - 346-291-4492

  FREE ROOF INSPECTION

A majority of roofs that are replaced here in the Richmond, Katy and Houston Texas area come from  insurance proceeds.  In fact, studies show that 95% of all roof replacements are powered by an insurance claim.  This means under 5% of homeowners pay "out of pocket" for roofing projects.  This highlights the importance of not only finding a good roofing crew or contractor but also finding a professional company that specializes in dealing with insurance claims.  Here at Kingdom Roof and Fence, we have been serving our greater Houston Texas community for the past decade and are looking forward to helping you out with your next project.  You can call us at 346-291-4492 or just simply visit us online at kingdomroofandfence.com for more information.

Let's talk about insurance claims for residential homes for a second as we pose a few questions.

Would you pay the sticker price for your next automobile at the car dealership?

It's not common knowledge that your insurance company send out a representative that is working for them and has their employers best interests in mind.  Another fact is that the insurance proceeds scope of work is a negotiation process that much like buying a car starts off benefiting the company as much as possible then can lean towards your favor later on.

Secondly, if there were to be any unexpected expenditures that were unforeseen before the project started like decking, are you aware that the project could be considerably more?

When you have a contractor that is compensated by insurance proceeds, there is no concern of additional charges accumulated as the project advances.  If there is any shingle square discrepancies or decking needed, your contractor will supplement them directly to the insurance company for you.  This means that you will not be required to pay anymore out of pocket payments other than the agreed deductible.

Thank you for reading this blog that was created by the management here at Kingdom Roof and Fence.  Once again give us a call at 346-291-4492 to receive your free roof inspection and allow our company to navigate you through this process.  You can also contact us online at kingdomroofandfence.com. We are an official Kingdom Business that was created to advance God's Kingdom here on this earth.

Roofing Contractor near me in the Houston, Richmond and Katy Texas area!

Looking for a Roofing Contractor?

The Texas area is saturated with many roofing contractors and when there's a major storm you'll find our state creates a gravitational pull for all of the roofers in the U.S.  It can be a very difficult task choosing a roofing contractor especially since many homeowners aren't educated with the roofing process and contractors can be hungry as ever after recently "robbing Peter."  These situations have created a lot of distrust in the roofing business and has knocked our industry down closer to the automobile sales profession.  This is one of the contributing factors that consumers have been led to lean their trust in organizations like Yelp, Google, Facebook and Nextdoor.

At Kingdom Roof and Fence, we have been roofing for a decade and make sure every client is informed and educated regarding the "good, better and best" products in our marketplace.  Starting with the vortex of air circulation in your roofing system to the synthetic underlayment of your shingles.  Later in the process we discuss the different shingle quality options available from wind/hail ratings to designer color sequences and high profile ridge caps.  This whole process can be very confusing and most homeowners here in our Richmond, Houston and Katy Texas area will only have this done once during the ownership of their home. You can rest assured that we are on your side and will help you every step of the way with professional recommendations and expert options.

Most of the greater Houston Texas area thinks that getting your roof approved for replacement by your insurance company is reserved for properties that have been a landing spot for large hail.  This actually isn't exactly the only criteria for approval as we at Kingdom Roof and Fence have helped our clients get many roofs bought from wind damage over the years and minimal hail every few years.  The truth is, most roofing systems that were installed by a builder are only expected to last for a maximum of 20 years.  This means, if you have a roof that's already seen 10 Texas summers, you really need to take advantage of our free inspection by our pros.  Once you can see water damage inside of your home, the leak will have already forged a significant trail behind the scenes.

We try to make it as easy as possible for our clients to do business with us.  Simply give us a call at 346-291-4492 to set up your free roof inspection and allow us to give your home a clean bill of health.  It's important to also remember that your roofing system should be caulked and sealed every three years. If you haven't done this or just would like to have us come out and take a look, we'd love to!  Do you have a steep roof?  No Problem!  Just need a simple roof repair?  Check out our $199 special!  Once again, give us a call at our office or visit us online at kingdomroofandfence.com for more information.  We will be looking forward to hearing from you.

We are an official Kingdom Business

Richmond Fence Contractor / Richmond Fence Company / 346-291-4492

Kingdom Roof and Fence is a roofing and fencing contractor in the Houston area located in Richmond, TX.  It's been an amazing experience helping our clients get the best available fence fit into their budget. Our continued goal is to keep providing the best fence solutions for our clients and their friends and family.  Here's a few things that you should consider before making a decision on replacing your fence.

Fence Posts

Choosing what type of fence posts is very important because without a post, your fence will be laying on the ground.  The two typical fence post selections on wood fencing are wood posts and metal posts.  Builder grade fences are installed with wood posts which require the concrete to come up to your ground level.  Often times these wood 4x4 fence posts have two distinct flaws.  The first is that the water from a rain saturates the bottom of the posts and begins the rotting process. This is the number one cause of a wooden fence post breaking at the bottom.  Secondly, the wooden fence post do not make a very good support for a gate which is a pain and an embarrassment to open for you or your guests after less than a year.

We would like to recommend that your fence is built with metal fence posts. These posts will have the most important structure of your fence secure for life!  This includes windstorms, flooding, freezing, animal abuse and children's horseplay.  With your metal post installation, you can rest easy that your next home project will not be a fence repair.  We also would like to point out the benefits of using metal fence posts for your gate construction.  Metal brackets that hold up your gate are much stronger and can easily be adjusted to the post compared to a traditional wood post.

Next we would like to highlight a quality issue that our potential clients are often unaware of, the removal of existing posts and the installation of the new ones.  Most contractors make the predictable corner cutting or sawing off the existing posts and then setting the new posts a few inches to a foot away.  This process will leave uneven sections and wasted materials in addition to unsupported corners.  Another area of interest is the application of the concrete.  You'll see many fly by night contractors pour concrete mix inside of a hole and then pour water into the same hole for mixing.  This will NEVER set correctly and no matter how much you attempt to mix it up with a stick.

Kingdom Roof and Fence removes all of the concrete from each existing post, set's the 6' fence posts at exactly 8' apart and the 8' fence posts at exactly 6' apart.  The difference is very noticeable once you can see the final product and it's too expensive to do it again.  We also mix our concrete in a bucket or wheel barrel correctly before pouring it into the holes to set the posts.  These are two steps of the fence building process that will separate your fence from the competition and leave you feeling proud at the conclusion of the project.

Fence Options

Here's the cosmetic appearances that serve multiple purposes to your new fence.  We're going to highlight both the options and their structural significance to your new fence.  Below you'll see a detailed description of pickets, kick board, trim pieces and gates.

Pickets - Pressure treated pine is a great option but the cedar pickets are the obvious upgrade.  The harder wood (pine) will prevent moisture from saturating into it but it cracks easily after an extended period of time for the same reasons.  The cedar fence pickets is a softer wood and doesn't warp or deteriorate as easy.  This softer wood is a better choice for your fence and when protected by a stain or sealant will last much longer and look much better.  We also offer clean cedar which has no imperfections

Kick Board - This option is (also referred to as the rot board) a pressure treated pine 2x6 that is installed at the bottom of your fence.  This option elevates your pickets 3'' off of the ground and prevents "wicking."  Like a candle wick, your fence pickets start grabbing water from the bottom and then the rotting process begins.  Take a look at any old fence picket and this evidence will become apparent.  Another great feature of installing the kick board, it will prevent your pickets from being damaged by weed eaters.  Consider this option which will protect your fence long term more than any other addition.

Trim Pieces - Most fences have a 1x4 trim piece at the top that covers up your pickets and makes your fence look beautiful.  This top trim board is essential for a straight fence and protects the top of your pickets from splitting and warping. A 1x2 trim piece in addition to the 1x4 at the top of your fence is known as "double trim."  This looks great and is typically used with a "top cap" which is a 2x6 or 2x8 cedar board.  These modifications can be made later after the fence is built or will be added at the time of your new fence installation.

Gates - This is the gateway into your property and the focal point of most fences.  When it comes to gates, they really separate the men from the boys besides the division of your front and back yard.  Our pride and joy are 6' gates cut out of 8' fences.  Gates should be constructed with a 3 hinge system and on a supporting post or posts that are less than two feet apart.  Kingdom Roof and Fence build every fence and guarantee them for 3 years.  This means that they will open and close like the day they were made years later.

Richmond Roofing Contractor / Katy Roofing Company / 346-291-4492

Kingdom Roof and Fence

Kingdom Roof and Fence is your local roofing contractor in the Houston, Richmond and Katy Texas area.  We specialize in custom roofing materials and steep roof installations.  Our crews have been working together for decades and we can handle any commercial or residential roofing project.  Being recognized and recommended by the shingle manufactures, you're making a good decision doing business with Kingdom Roof and Fence.  If you're going to hire someone to do your next project, why not hire the best and make sure everything is done right.  Take a look at the following and get to know our organization a little better.

Insurance Claim Assistance

One of the most important aspects of the roofing process is insurance claim assistance.  The first step is to make sure if calling a claim in on your insurance is actually a good idea.  If you call a claim in on your insurance and the damage on your doesn't get approve while the other less expensive items do, you will be in worst shape than before you filed your claim.  This is because the items that will be approved for replacement will be under your deductible and then you'll have to replace them out of pocket before your insurance company will insure them again.  This is one reason that you need a professional to look at your project and make sure you're making the right decision.

After the decision of whether or not to file a claim with your insurance has been made, the next step is for your professional roofing contractor to meet the insurance adjuster at your property.  The insurance adjuster works for the insurance company and his employer makes sure that their adjuster is concerned about their bottom line.  It's important for you to remember that you need someone who's knowledgeable with the insurance process that works for you and has your best interests in mind.  That's where Kingdom Roof and Fence comes into to play.
